    FAQs

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. SPF 50+ is the highest rating available in Australia and offers a high level of protection against UVB rays, the type most associated with sunburn. No sunscreen can block all UV radiation, which is why SPF 50+ is used alongside shade, clothing and other sun safety measures rather than relied on by itself.

UVB rays are the main cause of sunburn, while UVA rays penetrate more deeply into the skin and contribute to premature ageing. A broad spectrum sunscreen, like every product in the Natio sun range, is formulated to help protect against both UVA and UVB rays rather than one alone.

Most people apply less sunscreen than they need. As a guide, squeeze three separate lines of sunscreen along each middle finger for the face and body, then apply evenly before heading outdoors. Reapply at least every two hours, and straight after swimming, sweating or towel drying, since all of these can reduce how well sunscreen is working.

Yes. UV radiation can still be strong even when it doesn't feel hot or the sky is overcast, since cloud cover doesn't block UV rays the way it blocks visible light or heat. Daily sunscreen is recommended whenever the UV index reaches 3 or above, which is the case across most of Australia for much of the year.

It depends on how and where you're using it. The Quick Dry Moisturising Sunscreen suits everyday body use, the Invisible Fluid and Invisible Stick are designed for the face and layer well under makeup. The Invisible Mist offers a fast, hands free option for reapplying over makeup or at the beach, and the Sensitive Skin Sunscreen (including our Kids selection) is fragrance free and dermatologically tested for easily irritated skin.

Yes. The range is formulated to feel non-greasy and comfortable to wear, including on acne prone skin. For sensitive or reactive skin specifically, the Sensitive Skin Sunscreen is fragrance free and dermatologically tested, making it a considered choice for anyone who finds standard sunscreens irritating.

Natio's Kids Everyday Sensitive Sunscreen range is formulated specifically for children's skin. Sunscreen isn't recommended for babies under six months, who should instead be kept out of direct sun and protected with shade, clothing and a hat. Always read the label and follow the directions for use for children of any age.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Sunscreens are only one component of sun protection. Prolonged high-risk sun exposure should be avoided. Frequent use and re-application in accordance with directions is required for effective sun protection.
